The continuous maintenance of the operation and technical condition of the Green Sentinel, the Debrecen Environmental Control System, the maintenance and calibration of the measuring instruments is of utmost importance for accurate and reliable measurements, data collection and information.
Our air quality measuring instruments are continuously in operation at all 16 complex measuring stations, measuring the presence and quantity of particulate matter (PM2.5, PM10) and gases (CO, CO2, O3, NO, NO2, NOx, TVOC) in the air.
The planned annual calibration and comparison of our air quality instruments will take place in the second half of November. In preparation for this, maintenance work will be carried out (instrument cleaning, pump servicing). Currently, maintenance of the instruments at monitoring stations No 1, located next to the North-Western Economic Belt, and No 2, located at the Józsa exit of the M35 motorway, is underway.
The annual calibration was also coordinated with the last two-weekly measurement of the air baseline. The relevant site for the baseline measurement is the measuring station of Green Sentinel No. 7, Szávay Gyula Street. All online air quality measuring instruments will be relocated to this site for the planned calibration. The calibration and comparison will be carried out together with the accredited instruments of the independent, accredited laboratory measuring the baseline.
During the calibration period, these instruments will not be available on our website. The calibration will take 14 days, after which the instruments will be returned to the measuring stations and their data will be displayed on our website again.
This annual calibration and comparison will ensure that the instruments will continue to provide the people of Debrecen with reliable data.
