A one-kilometer running track is being built on Klastrompart in Józsa, which will cross the Tócó Stream in two places. Here, among the trees and on the banks of the stream, you can exercise in a natural environment, where the Green Sentinel will watch over joggers, as this is where the GreenSentinel's 16th surface water and 18th complex measuring stations are located.
While the runway is being built, the planned shutdown of the surface water measuring station will take effect. The reason for this is that during the construction work, the water level in the canal will be temporarily lowered in this section due to bridge construction work on the Tócó. In order to protect the integrity of the measuring instruments and probes, we will therefore suspend operations at measuring station No. 16, during which time the station's data collection and reporting will be suspended. The bridge construction work is expected to last for one month. After that, the water level will be restored and the station will resume operation!
At the start of bridge construction work, the sluice gate at measuring station No. 16 will be opened and the one at Szordasi Road will be closed. But what will happen to the water after the sluice gate is opened?
When the sluice gate is opened at this section, the water will not be drained away, but TIVÍZIG plans to discharge it onto the pastureland above the neighboring Szordasi Road for the purpose of water retention and local infiltration. This has several advantages: the water spreads across the pasture, ensuring local infiltration and soil water replenishment, helping to preserve soil moisture, improving plant water supply, increasing biodiversity, and improving the microclimate. The Tiszántúli Water Management Directorate coordinates the flooding of the area with the involvement of the Green Sentinel Biodiversity Working Group in order to retain the discharged water locally.
